I just installed latest update. And my plex server just crashed can’t get it back. The app doesn’t open. When i log in online the server says unavailable. I tried everything on the support site. please help. I knew I should have not bought the lifetime plan.
So, what version did you update to? (Please don’t say latest again, what version number.)
What version did you come from (version number).
How did you do the upgrade, through the web interface or manually?
What OS are you trying to run on?
What happen when you try and start the server application? Do you get a Plex splash screen and then it crashes?
Details will help immensely.
Logs will help to try and figure it out.
Look here for the logs that you should post
i downloaded a fresh install. And it works somewhat. there is no icon or application. So when I close the application and try to restart it there is no way to do that. There is no application or icon to click on.
i can not find log files. Why the hell is there no support phone number? waste of time and money .

As long as you continue to not post the needed information then yes, it will be a waste of time for you.
But I am done wasting my time.
Good luck to you and Happy Valentine’s Day.

Easily Gather Logs
Beginning with Plex Media Server version 1.1.0 and newer, it is simple to quickly gather your server logs.
Go to Settings > Server > Help
in Plex Web App
Click the Download Logs
button
Save the resulting zip file and then post it in this thread

You didn’t attach the file. The post before the one I quoted says the file name of what would be one of the logs, but there is no file attached…
Err. Can’t figure out how to get logs. I tried following the directions. I will try to buy a new computer to see if it works on that.
Good idea.
When I get a flat tire I buy a new car.

Was there not a W. C. Fields short ( “The Road Hog” I think) where Fields bought a new car every time the one he had ran out of gas?
Either situation is equally as well thought out but Fields was funnier.
The only time I have ever bought a new computer specifically for Plex was when I realized that Plex, or any other media manager and player that filled my needs, was going to have to run on a computer that was a bit more powerful that the one I had at the time. (It had a Passmark of 654) or I was going to have to re-encode a large chunk of what was already, at the time, a pretty large library and was clearly going to grow dramatically as the large library I inherited was ripped/converted/imported nto my library.
I decided that a new reasonably powerful computer dedicated to Plex was the best choice for me. So I bought and set up my current system and it “should” be good enough for at least a few more years.
For me having a computer that is not powerful enough or the current one breaking are about the only reasons to buy a new computer specially for Plex.
