I have a music playlist which has 500 tracks on it (Rolling Stone’s 500 greatest songs, FWIW). Due to a recent replacement of a file, one track got dropped and I had to re-add it. I can’t drag the new addition to its correct place in the list. It just won’t move. After I click and start dragging, the “drop here” line moves as if it’s working, but when I release the mouse button, nothing happens. I even tried just moving it one space, or moving the one above it down, but nothing.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I can drag-and-drop to edit short (20-30 item) playlists.
Is is possible to edit the XML or whatever the “source code” of the playlist is, or am I stuck having to rebuild it?
Plex Media Server Version 1.28.2.6151
Plex Web Version 4.87.2, tried remotely (running on app.plex.tv) and from the server PC (running on localhost).
Remote runs on Windows 10, server runs Ubuntu 22.04.1
EDIT: Now for the crazy part: I just discovered that I can drag and drop tracks on the 500 item playlist on the Plex app on my Android phone.
I don’t have a solution but just wanted to add that I see this exact same behavior in my Plex environment. I do the same thing- alter the playlist from mobile device instead which does seem to work fine but is cumbersome.
Details: I had actually already fixed the original playlist problem using my previous discovery, but I have another playlist that is almost as long (401 items), which I first opened and then scrolled to the bottom of as quickly as possible. I verified that I could not rearrange track 401 by even 1 spot (similar to the original problem). Then, I scrolled all the way back to the top and scrolled down a screen at a time, making sure that if I saw any “loading” messages the resolved before I moved on, and, per my above statement, I looked on in astonishment as I was suddenly able to relocate item 401 to a different place on the list.
