Solved: DSM 7.0 Picture and Video thumbnails visible - unable to load photo! Check file exists

Server Version#: 1.23.6.4881
I upgraded to DSM and followed carefully all related Plex instructions. Installation of both went smoothly. As I could and still can see thumbnails for all pictures and videos I assumed all was working well. How wrong could I be? Clicking any video triggers the error “please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted” while clicking any picture results in the error “unable to load photo”.

Meanwhile I also deleted the “Plex” share and the “plex” user as both are no longer useful.

My videos and pictures are stored in a Dropbox folder (and they must remain there) on Synology DS218+. All worked well with DSM 6.0 and previous Plex version.

How do I fix this? Is there a robust way to do a clean delete & re-install for Plex? I consciously upgrade all Plex versions, now running 1.23.6.4881

---- *** SOLVED ***
I did not grant user PlexMediaServer read permission in the Dropbox Folder storing the pictures and videos. Works as designed now.
