[SOLVED] Remote Access Port 32400 Plex - Two PMS on same router - Internal & External IP Set-up

Hello to all,

I have been using Plex on win 10 for a few years with no problems and is accessible outside my network. No problems here.

Recently i got myself a Shield TV for a better player.

I wanted today to make my Shield TV accessible also outside my network however it seems to fail.
My Win10 server on port 192.168.1.46:32400 works fine
My Shield is on port 192.168.1.59

  • I tried 32400 did not work
  • I tried new ports and did not work by updating port forwarding - and i get this :
    Private 192.168.1.59 : 32400 Public 79.XXX.XX.61 : 32401 Internet

I see that private IP still used 32400 default - could it be the double use of win10 and shield causing the problem?
Any work around to get both devices on same router to be accessible outside my network?

Thank you
Ben

Just a question after more research as it may be that my router is the problem.

PMS1: Working Good.
Port forwarded on router:

Plex:
PMS46

PMS2 cannot connect

Plex:
pms2

After reading more - I tried to open the port 32400 on 192.168.1.59 in my router but did not allow me.

Is this the problem?
thanks

you need to port forward 32401 but map it to 32400 on the shield. Some routers will ask for an internal port and an external port. The External should be 32401, and the internal should be 32400. Do not confuse this with the “Range” that is also available for some routers.

Hi thank you -
not sure how to map on the shield - have i missed anything in the images i put up?

You map in the router, not the shield. As I said, some routers allow you to do this, some don’t. You need “Internal Port” set at 32400, and “External Port” set at 32401. If you tell us which router manufacturer you have, we might be able to find it online in the user manual or something…

Ok - i had to go to the advanced settings behing the ISP UI of the modem. I did so much research and the ISP forums say they do not allow the same port to be opened on different local IPs.

Then i looked further how to access the manufacturer and found this :

Added the internal and external ports as mentioned and now the settings allowed me to save it and both remotes are online and working.

Edit - Movistar ISP Modem/Router - How to open same port on two different local IPs - Need to look and find the advanced settings behind the ISP UI - Once there under under NAT - Virtual Servers - set your details as follows:

PMS1: WIN 10

PMS2: Shield

Thank you!
