I have plex running on centos, and I run unifi equipment at home. Long story short, I can access plex remotely (I am doing it right now, I am house sitting hundreds of miles away) using my public ip and the default port via firefox. However, plex itself tells me it isn’t available outside my network, and my android device claims the server is not available.
Any tips on how to convince plex it can be seen remotely?
PMS 1.13.5 just gave the ability to control which ethernet adapter PMS binds to. This was a requisite step to solving the next part which is Remote Access properly reporting to Plex.tv
Engineering is working on it now to get the Server & Web client to report correctly to Plex.tv so your mobile device (which asks Plex.tv first) knows it really is accessible.
Interesting. Is there anything I can do on my end to resolve this? Extra context: it’s running on a server with multiple interfaces and multiple IPs per interface. If I turned down one of the interfaces would that help?
