So the other day I moved my movies from one Hdd to another and then told plex where I moved the files. About half my movies lost cover art. I tried deleting my entire movies section from plex and readding it. I tried the plex dance with the ones that were missing artwork but it didn’t help. My tv shows also got moved but did not lose their artwork. All other Metadata is correct. I am running windows server 2016 and on the latest plex version I think 1.13.8.5395. I also gave all my movies to a friend and he added them to his server and his downloaded the art just fine. Any help is appreciated. i have attached the logs.
Someone please help
First, did you use this guide: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201154537-move-media-content-to-a-new-location/
Then, is there something special about your movies or your library? Do you use the “Plex Movie” agent?
Did you enable “Local Media Assets”? Sometimes there are broken posters saved to the movies directory which result in empty posters in Plex. Please try to disable “Local Media Assets”.
As you are familiar with the “Plex Dance”, did you try to “Empty Trash” or to “Optimize Database”?
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200289326-emptying-library-trash/
And last but not least: please post the server logs.
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/
I have not messed with local media assets and I did not try to optimize database. But I have done everything else
And yea I posted server logs but let me grab some new ones
According to your logs, your meta data is partially broken and contains broken images. Stop the server, remove the broken meta data and then update meta data in PMS.

Btw: do you really run PMS with the Administrator account? That’s not the best idea …
Why is it not a good idea to run it with admin
Btw. you could also just augment the usual “Plex Dance” with the global “Clean Bundles” action, i.e. remove the broken media or the whole library (greedy approach), empty trash, clean bundles, create library.
If possible, never, ever run anything with admin privileges. First rule of computers
Read e.g. https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/aaron_margosis/2004/06/17/why-you-shouldnt-run-as-admin/
Plex Media Server Logs_2018-11-03_08-08-10.zip (4.3 MB)
Ok so I tried to unistall plex. Completely delete all plex stuff in my appdata/local and then started a new server and only loaded the movies in. When I did that it still had the same problem. I tried to to do the plex dance and clean bundles and everthing even after creating a new server but no luck.
Your server logs still contain log files from August, so it is impossible that you have really deleted all Plex data. Please take a look at the following document to find the relevant path to remove, if you really want to start from scratch. I am not a Windows PMS user so I cannot help you in this regard.
