Some of the shows eiter show more seasons that there actually is and some shows combine 2 or seasons as one

ok as the topic says…my (my family) tv series shows season 1 and 2 combined as season 1. then there is no s02 but goes straight to s03. my (Roseanne) tv series shows all seasons fine s01 - s10 but then skips s11 and goes to s19 bbut there is only 11 seasons… My stuff is labled and filed as it should be eg. my family folder with all the seasons folders separately inside it …s01 with all the s01 files insite it and so on for all the other seasons…and everything is named like it should be eg Roseanne - S01E01 - Life and Stuff…Any idea what the probleme could be or how to sort it out.All my other series is just fine and is filed and named in same manner

Are those mp4/m4v files with (bad) embedded metadata?

If it’s not… would you mind sharing how the files showing as “Roseanne” season 19 are named? You can click on Edit for that season and get the list of files associated to that season on the Info tab.

it was wrongly named before…but i did fix it but it still doesnt change anything …i have tried to refresh the metadata but its still the same…and if i check what u asked above then it is labled wrongly { * F:\Series\Roseanne\Roseanne Season 7\Roseanne_S7_Ep10_Thanksgiving 1994.avi} but if i go to the file then its labled right {Roseanne - S07E10 - Thanksgiving '94} and most of my files is avi in theses to series

how do i know if the embedded metadata is (bad) and how do i sort it out if it is (bad)

If you fixed the file names since running into this issue you might need to perform a “Plex Dance” for Plex to “forget” it already knows those files.
When you scan files, Plex uses an algorithm to identify if a file is already in your database. This will check the actual filename but also the file’s size and a fingerprint. This feature is usually quite useful if you’re e.g. doing only minor fixes to your file names (without changing the structure / key content)… in your case it might have cause Plex to stick to the old mapping to season 19.

Naming like this should be safe with Plex:

F:
  Series   <- your library is linked to this folder
    Roseanne
      Season 07
        Roseanne - s07e10 - Thanksgiving 1994.avi

There should be no need to look for bad embedded metadata with AVI files.

thank you very much…i was thinking about doing somethimg like what u mentioned but didnt know if it will make a diffrence but since u mentioned it i will give it a go…thx for ur advise i will try it tomorrow coz its getting late here in south africa 23;16 to be exact…im sure it will work but wil keep u up to date…thx again
