Could this be something to do with meta info embedded in some video files and not others?
Most definitely. Clean up or remove the metadata from the files and rescan; the Plex Dance may be needed.
LMA Hack - to the rescue…:
Thanks. Just changed that.
Can anyone recommend a metadata stripping app for mac that does batch? Thanks!
Darci may know just the thing, but if you leave LMA at the bottom of those Agent lists it won’t be a problem.
What you might be able do for new stuff - right in your file manager - is remove metadata from MP4 files in one go. Windows has that - and don’t winders copy everything mac does?..lol
If I have my ‘Details Pane’ enabled, it’ll show me the embedded tags - I can just highlight them and delete them for MP4 files. MKVs take a stronger medicine (MKVToolNix or similar for Mac).
Anyway - after you do a few hundred, muscle memory takes over and you don’t even know you’re doing it.
A ‘Demoted’ LMA will catch existing and new stuff you miss. <— by not acting stooopit.
