Sony 2019 TV Android™ 8.0 Oreo (May 2019) Update

Hi,

I run several Sony Android TVs with the Plex App installed. My TVs are all 2015 are are fully updated on Android version 7.0)

My friend has a newer Sony android TV and has recently updated to Android™ 8.0 Oreo (May 2019 patch)

Since the update, his Plex app fails to find any servers.

We both have the same version of Plex app (7.18.1.11300 latest version) and he has performed the standard fix attempts - deleted app, reinstalled, powered off etc… he can login to Plex ok but it just doesn’t find the servers. From other devices on his network can find servers and play content without issue so i don’t believe it’s a network/router issue)

Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi there, just saw this thread. There are no known issues with the Android 8 update on Sony Android TVs.

Can you ask your friend to sign out then sign back into the Plex app then provide us the log from the Plex app? https://support.plex.tv/articles/201573117-android-android-tv-fire-tv-logs/

Hi, many thanks for getting back to me.

I have notice on my TV there has been a app update (7.19…), ive asked my friend to update that and retry. If it still fails I’ll get the logs and reply asap.
