Sony X95J & Plex App - HDR playback issue

When playing HDR files through the native Plex app, the Sony does not switch its picture settings as it should when playing HDR content. My picture settings stay on my ‘custom’ settings, and brightness does not max out.

However, when playing these same files through my Apple TV box, the picture settings do change as expected. Any idea why this is happening?

Player version: 9.21.2.1271
Plex server version: 1.32.1.6999

Interested in this as I have a new 65inch X95L coming next month and definitely want the HDR to work
