"Source Error" still happening on Android device, thread with solution doesn't work

Server Version#: 4.147.1
Player Version#: 2025.23.0
Android Version 13

Previous posts claim the problem can be fixed by sideloading a different version of Plex, but this is still happening to me even with that version ( Source Error - #30 by sixones ). After every 5 minutes or so of playback. Sometimes if I’m lucky I can get 15 or 20 minutes. The previous version of Plex before the major redesign that kind of blindsided everybody worked perfectly fine, so the issue definitely falls with the app. If I install an old version of Plex before the redesign, it still works, I just don’t think using an old version forever is a solution. This is pretty upsetting since I paid a pretty penny just to be able to use Plex remotely again with the app only for it to not work right anymore. If anybody feels like looking it over, I attached my log. I recorded the approximate times of some of the crashes, one at 12:43pm, one at 1:04pm, and one at 1:09pm, all on August 23, 2025.

Same here. Didn’t try to sideload a different version. I thought this might be due to tailscale, but problem persists with it off. Any chance someone has identified this bug and hopefully working on it?

You have networking issues.

Old client allowed insecure connections to the server, newer clients do not. If the only secure connection the client can work out is through the router and public ip then it is subject to disruptions. This points to dns and dns rebinding on the internal network as the problem.
Most consumer network gear is setup to connect a device to the internet and not to local devices so sometimes additional work needs to be done.
