SSL Certificate Errors

@BigGr33n

Have you restarted the server within the past 15 minutes?

I ask because the team just fixed the EU-West Plex server for Remote Access.

My Samsung TV 2019 QN55Q70R is working, it’s in another VLAN that my PMS is, secure connection is Required
TV firmware: 1385 (latest)
Plex version 5.25.2 | Platform version: 5
Also can confirm that it is working in my mobile (android), and chromecasts devices

Thanks ChuckPa, restarted and it’s working now :slight_smile:

@ChuckPa
Could you let me know where to check the certificate on a Mac?

And I have a client that keeps giving the “CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from 192.168.1.6:57018: sslv3 alert certificate expired” error, but it is on the local lan, and I have put its IP explicitly in the noAuth field.

still doing same ChuckPA,

CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from [::ffff:XXX.XXX.XXX.XX]:50256: sslv3 alert bad certificate

Managed to the client working by signing out on the client.

@rtaxerxes

I’m not a MacOS guy but if the Unix is still close to Linux in that regard,
Your supplemental cert is wherever you want to place it (you tell Plex where to look for it).

As for the Plex cert, that’s stored in the Caches directory. I caution about messing with things in there because if you do a removal but not get it all then it’s a mess to get it.

Do you have your own cert?

not that I know of?

Your Plex cert info:

Generation info:
Valid Fri, 01 Oct 2021 15:31:21 +0000 Fri, 01 Oct 2021 15:31:32 +0000

It’s a good cert and brand new.

When’s the last you did a full restart ?

Thanks for the reset.
FYI: I didn’t even have to restart / reboot the server (Shield TV). But sure it’s recommended to do so.

I’ll do a restart later and see if something changes.
For now everything seems fine. Remote access is securely again. :pray::hugs:

restarted server when you said to earlier… ill try a full server restart now. Thanks for you help btw, hopefully sorts it out…

@_PantherPlex

There is something that got disturbed in that container. Not sure what it is

still getting the same log about the incomplete tls handshake

@_PantherPlex

I reset it one last time.

If it’s not working this time, it must be local.

Also having problems . Lg tv .

Rebooted server - issue still persist.

Your homescreen is empty

Eu location

Plex work on IOS app though ( iPhone )

@ChuckPa

I have two LG tv . A new model working just fine 2021 model .

And an older model aprox 3-4 years old … dont work … worked yesterday .

Sound really odd . :confused:

Since yesterday, we can’t watch any movies anymore, VERY annoying, took me a few hours trying everything possible, until I realized in the log:
Oct 01, 2021 17:01:45.785 [0x7fcbaadb0b38] DEBUG - CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from [::ffff:10.30.30.11]:35356: sslv3 alert certificate expired

Please notice, that:

  • I’m accessing only from LAN, not any “remote” (i.e. no VPN, cloud, NAT etc.: just local LAN)
  • From the browser, it plays; from the RasPi RasPlex, it won’t
  • I have 2 different RasPlex in our house, both played with no issue until yesterday: since then, both are not able to access my own local Plex server
  • I run the Plex in a Ubuntu VM under proxmox, everything latest/patched/restarted etc.
  • No blocking network nor anything else, just those plex-logs with the “cert expired” messages

Please, help me out, this really sucks.

Thank you,
Andrej

@ChuckPa

Just installed Xplay - works perfectly without any problems …… its Plex that seems to have an issue .?.?
