I had the TLS profile level in “modern” before my fresh installation, but that was only a residual bug of dsm migrations, by going back to “intermediate”, everything is back to normal.
Thank you for sharing.
I’ll figure out what they mean by “modern” TLS profile
modern = tls 1.3
intermediate = tls 1.2 & 1.3
If you are having TLS errors,
Check
Control Panel - Security - Advanced
Make certain it is set to Intermediate for now.
Plex will be upgrading to TLS 1.3 – but not yet.
HI mate, can you reset mine please I’ve just migrated server and getting SSL errors and rate limiting messages in my log!
You have an ownership/permissions problem in the Plex Media Server directory.
It’s made too many certificate requests. This only happens when something has gone into /var/lib/plexmediaserver .
Do you have any scripts or programs which write to this area?
If so, you need to stop them and make changes.
Can you tell me what’s happened?
Are you using SNAP or DPKG ?
The daily quota has been exceeded. This is why it’s being throttled.

Seems like the same issue impacts new docker setup / install.

I’ve had a similar issue for a while. I can access everything remotely on iOS and my Fire TV but app.plex.tv cannot connect to my server. When I try to manage my server from from that site I get a “Unable to connect to ‘server’ securely.” message.
This is what the logs show me when I retry the connection.

Any chance to get my cert throttle reset also?
May I have your logs please?
Plex.tv is not showing you as throttled.

Hi, I’m also having issues with certificate api limits. Can you reset it?
Here is the message being shown repeatedly in my logs

From what I can see at Plex.tv, you’ve created 4 different variations of your server within the past few hours?
uhh yeah but this is the last one I swear, part of the creating multiple was having this issue over and over again and thinking, maybe if I just reinstall this will fix it.
Your account is locked so hard that I can’t reset it.
I’ve asked the team to help but , at this point, you will need wait until morning (London time)
ok, is there a time period that it will unlock it’s self at?
I recently migrated to a new server and I am getting the same error in the logs. @ChuckPa can you help?
The best thing to do is stop the server.
By stopping it, it doesn’t keep hammering.
This allows Plex.tv to think the server will behave and it will then naturally unlock.
You might be able to get it back in a couple hours that way
What’s bothering me is why this is occurring.
“Big Hammer” approach is never wise
