SSL Certificate Errors

@ChuckPa All is working perfectly now.

I’m getting [CERT] TLS connection from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx came in with unrecognized plex.direct SNI name. Seems I need a new cert too. could you please reset?

@sanjuro34

please give me a few minutes to look at this. Your machine made 3 certificate requests today.

I’m concerned about breaking your quota . Might well be a local problem on the host itself (easily fixed once identified)

yes, I tried to readd the server a few times to get rid of the cert issues without success

Thanks.

That explains it.

I have reset your certificate. Please restart your server

If you have other issues, Please DO NOT wipe it out and start over. You’ll get throttled for 24 hours.

If you have issues, open a new thread and Ping me please.

OK, Thanks. I’ll try again tomorrow

Your server is ready now.

What are you trying to do and having failures which is causing the reset ??

I tried to solve the cert issues, but the the server became unavailable. After you reset the cert the issue still exists with same error message

@sanjuro34

I checked. The certificate is valid.

Next step.

  1. Sign out of Plex/web
  2. Open an incognito browser window
  3. Open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web -or- http://LAN.IP.OF.HOST:32400/web (same subnet)
  4. If unclaimed – “Got It” and “Sign In”. skip through to the dashboard.

Let me know your progress.

Done…without any issues

all is working again?

I haven’t received “Got it” and “Sign in”, but was able to login

ok… good.

It’s all playing under your PlexPass and everything as it should ?

As last step –

Settings - Authorized Devices - Server (dropdown)

Make certain there are no duplicates of your server listed.
If there are, delete the one which hasn’t been seen recently.

(Keep the most-recent)

Yes, I only get the message for remote access taht the server isn’t available outside the network wich I guess is related to the cert error. There’re no duplicate servers in the list

Good. From here, everything looks clear and correct.

If the same for you … :+1:

@ChuckPa
Can you please check my cert, I didn’t know users were having issues recently.
Cant access my server currently like normal outside the network.

Thanks

@stephengillon

Your certificate was just renewed by the system a couple hours ago.

you might want to just give it a restart.

Yeah I originally deleted the cert file you mentioned earlier in thread while server was shutdown, still did not work so I posted.

After your reply I restarted both plex and the server itself with no luck.

Port is open and checked with port checker.

When I have network set to preferred or disabled, I try to access and it says cannot establish a secure connection. If I set to required says I just cannot connect.

Any ideas?

Thanks

@stephengillon

Please verify Plex has DEBUG logging enabled / VERBOSE logging disabled / SAVE if changed.

Restart Plex

Let it sit for 3 minutes (completely idle) so the logs get a clean startup sequence without interruption.

Now download the Logs ZIP file and attach please.

@ChuckPa

Did the steps, at the end I tried to access remotely just so its in logs.
If you don’t want that in as well let me know.
Thanks for the help
