SSL Certificate Errors

@stephengillon

Everything in your log shows the server certificate is OK.

It’s communicating perfectly with Plex.tv .

It knows you’ve got a Plex Pass and everything.

We must be very careful NOT to confuse certificates with port forwarding and firewall issues.

I am starting to think this is a networking issue (port forwarding) and not a cert issue at all.

Also, is P:\ a network drive?

If so, why do you have Plug-ins out there ? (not supported)

Well thanks for clarifying its not the cert.
Port is forwarded and checks out, firewall has the right exceptions but also I have tested with it off.

P:\ is the data drive for plex containing all the meta.
Other than Tautulli I have no plugins.

Not sure where the issue is.

I just tested from my work network (separate isp) and works just fine. Just doesn’t want to work from my cell isp which is the only other one I can test with currently.

Edit: after some searching it appears to be IPv6 issue related, connecting from ipv6 device to the server. not sure if there’s a fix?

Wont take up anymore on this thread unless you have any suggestions.

Thanks again Chuck

@stephengillon

P:\ is local or Network?

If metadata / database – AND – network ---- DANGER.

Network mounts don’t have locks required. at some point you will corrupt the DB

It’s local PCIe gen3 drive.

Just labelled it p for plex.

Servers been running for few years now. Mostly flawless other than the odd update that causes an issue.

My issue I believe is most definitely ipv6 connectivity.

Thanks for clarifying – scares me when I see a typical network drive with PMS on it.

Are you IPv6 only ?

How is LAN on IPv4 ?

My network is all ipv4.

My router has acceptions to allow ipv6 inbound connections.

Plex is set to allow allow ipv6 connections.

My cell carrier must have switched to ipv6 recently as I am getting ipv6 address on my phone when connected to LTE data. And cannot connect to plex from my phone via Web or plex app.

Thank you.

is your LAN / host configured for dual stack ?

Do you get “10/10” for score here?

Hey @ChuckPa I’m also getting the CSR failed to upload error. My cert is valid for now, but it is worth it to correct it to get rid of the error?

@Lickitysplitted

Cert was stuck “GENERATING”. RESET and confirmed “GENERATED”.

Restart the server.

TO ALL FOLLOWING.

Operations has updated the frequency which certificates are checked (and reset if needed).

They now scan all of Plex every hour.

If your certificate does not clear after 1 hour, please reach out to me.

“Clear” == Restarting Plex Media Server does not download a new certificate and restore normal operation.

Can you check my server as well? Seeing a number of sslv3 certificate errors when connecting with PS4.

TIA
T

Tr…

Your certificate for the server is valid.

Valid	Sat, 30 Oct 2021 15:45:53 +0000	Sat, 30 Oct 2021 15:46:08 +0000
CERTIFICATE EXPIRES AT JANUARY 28, 2022 14:46

Check the PS4 for updates

After a few days of testing it turns out everything is working for everyone now after cert update but my phone on carrier data does not, works fine on any wifi connections.

Can’t figure it out

Samsung s21 ultra.

I’ve read few people are having issues playing video with a temp fix but I can’t even connect to the server.

Happened after upgrading to Android 12

Hello,
so a buddy of mine installed plex media server on my Nvidia Shield, he showed me how to use it via iPad for the settings and stuff, that was at his home and working fine, now after I plugged everything on my TV at my place, I tried to access Plex via iPad and App and via Url, I get this unsecure connection screen I saw posted earlier in this thread, any suggestions what I need to do?

So no one is able to help my buddy Enrico with his problem?

Been kinda busy with the holiday here. I have a bit of time tonight.

I’ve looked at the server. The certificates are correct

What I see of significance:

CREATED 8 DAYS AGO
LAST SEEN ABOUT 8 HOURS AGO
PUBLISHED NO
LOCAL ADDRESSES 192.168.0.16

CERTIFICATE: Valid	Fri, 17 Dec 2021 15:37:43 +0000	Fri, 17 Dec 2021 15:37:53 +0000

Is the LAN address correct for this new location?
Is the correct account being used to sign into it or is it registered to another account?

Not being secure tells me it’s having something wrong with certificates or DNS authentication.

In either case, i am going to need to see the DEBUG log files from the server

Can you get them?

Thanks for your help, well getting the logs might be a problem, in explaining him how to get them from the shield, he has no computer besides his iPad.
But I will figure something out.

That’s not good.

If there is no way to get to it (iPad is not a computer) – You need to erase the server (Uninstall) and start over.

Also, it is important to go REMOVE the server from Plex.tv so it knows of the deletion.

Please Help! I also seeing a numbers of this
„ CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from [::ffff:45.143.200.118]:64929: wrong version number“.
Also a friend with fiber network didn‘t come in to my server, only „not direct“!
Over radio network are no problems! Plex is newest beta! Thanks for your time!
The certs are new what shall i do!
