Stability Issues

So I’ve got the latest Plex beta on unRAID. I’ve been having stability issues for a couple months. I’ve tried restoring a very old backup and even repairing the database. It randomly stops responding to clients but appears to still be running. I’m not sure what to look for next. The server has remained unchanged for over a year with the exception of adding new media both video and audio and automatic Plex updates. Can anyone help me resolve this?

Why are you running beta? I would recommend using Binhex Unraid. I have been running it for a couple of years now on my Unraid server without any issues. What are the specs of the Unraid server. Have you looked at the Plex Server Logs when this is happening for clues?

It’s been stable for probably 7 years. Past 2 months not so much. Servers specs pretty decent. Dual CPU 24 cores, 32 gig ram. I forget which CPU at the moment but it’s Intel. Not sure which log I should be looking at.

If in doubt, start with Plex Media Server.log (or its numbered rolling predecessors) and look for any lines tagged as error (ERROR - ) or warning (WARN - ).

I will take a look when I get home in a few hours. Odd thing is unRAID shows it as running but it’s unresponsive.

If it has been running that long you might want to check to see how much space you have left for the docker container or storage location for your plex data.

Appdata folder good. Just under half free on the SSD. How do I check docker?

Go to the docker tab, at the bottom click container size.

Why do you have two container sizes? The first one is good but the second you have only 18 mb which shows your container is full. If this is the one you have issues with, then go to your docker settings and stop docker. Then resize the container. Start up the container.

What do you mean two container sizes? I don’t see that. As for the 18 meg in the photo that is the log size.

I changed the docker size from 25 to 35. I’m not seeing where you show it as full however.

Ok my mistake, it is two screen shots of the container dialog box. The 18.5MB on the second image is what is left. This is to small, that is like having 18MB left on your hard drive. Think of the Docker Container as separate hard drive.

I’m confused. That 18.5 Meg is the total of the logs if I’m reading it correctly.

LOL, you are correct, I should have looked closer, guess I should not answer questions after just getting up and not having my cup of coffee yet. So yeah you had plenty of space. Interesting though, I compared my container size for Plex and yours is half the size as mine.

I wonder if that’s just the amount of shows you have compared to what I have? Anyway I deleted the docker.img I’m currently adding everything back so those will all be reset. I mean it can’t hurt.

I use the Benhex Plex and it had been working great for me so you may try that version.

Ok after a few days I just crashed again. This is what I see in the log.

Jan 19, 2022 03:00:57.149 [0x14d99626db38] ERROR - [Transcoder] Error while decoding stream #0:1: Invalid data found when processing input
Jan 19, 2022 03:00:57.149 [0x14d993ffab38] ERROR - [Transcoder] [aac @ 0x148d37e79b40] channel element 0.0 is not allocated

Can anyone tell me what’s going on and how to fix this crashes.

Plex Media Server.log (4.6 MB)

Any one have any idea what the contents of my logs mean? There are many warnings and errors that have crepes up on me. I haven’t changed anything so I’m not sure why or how to resolve.
