Still xbox one x 4K buffering issue

Dears,
I see several closed topics on the same issue since more than a year.
When I play a 4K movie from my synology 918+ on my android TV i have not any issue it is playing well without any buffering.
However, if I switch on my xbox one x with the same software plex config I have only buffering issues always. Only for 4k movies.
So, I did a check and I see that when I play a movie on my android tv the bandwidth is at the correct use in between 10mb and 20mb/sec in upload from the server. But if I play the same movie on xbox one x it stuck to 1.1mb/sec. So indeed there is always a buffering loading happening, unfortunately.

How is that possible that the xbox is limiting this? Is it due to plex? I’m quiet sure of that cause I don’t have the issue with other apps on the console.

Plex, are you still working on the fix? Did you plan to communicate at a certain point?

@community: did you see the same root cause? Any work arounds?

Thx guys

It seems that plex doesn’t really care anymore about this issue apparently when I read the last update and fixes included in it…

@Plex support are you still alive? We are waiting for an official communication about this critical issue.

On my Xbox One X I’ve seen that Plex didn’t recognize to be a local player, so it tried to transcode. I switched local and not local to allow direct play and it was fine …

Thx for your message. What do you mean by switched local and not local? I use direct play and still have the issue. The bandwidth management system of the plex xbox app seems to be the issue with my tests.

Yea this issue is getting worse every update. Plex devs are ignoring us but go ahead and PM @Moussa maybe one day he will respond and also make sure everytime this happens to put in a bug repot on your Xbox.

I’ve been putting in 2-3 reports a week on my Xbox and posting a lot here and even on the plex reddit in hopes at some point someone employee’d with plex see’s this issue and replies back.
