Stop making recommended as the default view for libraries on the server side

It’s pretty annoying that whenever I log in the server that my movies, TV shows and music open to your recommended tab. Why can’t you give users the option to let it open to their library? Why we do need your recommendations for our own personal media? I don’t care for the recommendations

Tell your web browser to not delete the cookies from the domain plex.tv when you close it.
Then not only you don’t have to log in every time, but also all your last-used view modes are preserved inbetween sessions.

You probably have ad blockers that prevented Plex.tv from saving cookies. Whitelist it and see if it solves the problem.

Or just give users the option to make library the default instead of recommended :man_shrugging:

I haven’t seen the Recommendations for months.

I also understand how to keep it from appearing, and I agree it’s annoying.

I’m glad Plex tries to use cookies to save changes I make.

But the default is to show my libraries. So just show my libraries. I’m from the “modal dialogs are bad” school. Don’t force me through a modal dialog to click “OK” to the defaults.

In my opinion it’s bad UX for new users, too. “I didn’t want to watch TV the first time, but now I can’t find it. That screen doesn’t come up again, and I can’t get back to it.”

Yes, use the setting ‘Remember Selected Tab’.

However, this does not work for Podcasts…I always get the ‘recommended’ podcasts instead of My Podcasts.

I just tried that, and I see the same thing. It appears to be all of the online services except Music (Tidal). So that would be a bug.

I just wrote up a bug for them.
