Stopped adding new files

Could you take a look at UNC Path not working following update to 1.32.0.6918 - #6 by sa2000 and try to perform the dignostic steps described in there?
It would help greatly to diagnose the issue.

I am having the same issues once upgrading to 1.32.0.6918, Library wont refresh

Same issue here as from 1.31.x. I’ve fixed the issue by rolling back to 1.30.2.6563 which seems to be the latest working version. On latest 1.32.x and the issue came back and seems to be, for me, stuck refreshing a single library and I need to “Cancel Scan” in order to detect newly added files. The other solution is to restart the plex service.

Same problem, plex won’t scan my Drivepool since updating to latest version. Really don’t want to have to uninstall and reinstall an earlier version. Anyone know when the next update will release and if it will possibly fix this issue?

I’d just do it, only takes a second. You don’t need to uninstall (from what I recall) you just install the older version over the top.

We have been testing a fix for these network share issues with a number of users. What we are confident so far is fixing it for SMB1. Your error code (1359) is different and I would like to try out a different build to see if it fixes the problem for you. I would like to give you two builds - one that we know fixes smb1 and another that we would like to see if it fixes the other cases.

Let me know if you are ok trying out these builds and I will send you links by PM

Sure thing.

Any particular way to resolve this issue without forcing SMB1? Not sure what your fix is, but I think I am experiencing this issue as well. I know SMB1 is not as secure, so was wondering if there is a fix that will utilize 2 or 3?

Of course the recommendation would be to stop using SMB1 and switch to smb2 or 3
The issue is that some old NAS devices do not have that capability of using other versions of smb

See this post UNC Path not working following update to 1.32.0.6918 - #25 by anon18523487

and if you are using a NAS for the media - see what settings it has for SMB

Depending on your file server, you may be able to use NFS instead.

Same issue here with scanning DrivePool folder (boost::filesystem::directory_iterator::construct: An internal error occurred error). Rolling back to 1.31.1.6782 fixed it for me.

I grabbed the installer from here and downgrading is just a simple re-install

A fix to address the various issues with network shares has now been released in Plex Media Server version 1.32.0.6950

  • (Windows) Scanning libraries on certain network mounts could fail (#14259)

For further issues relating to network mapped drives / unc / drivepool etc, please raise as new forum topics providing details and server logs

Thanks

I am glad I just waited, new updated fixed the problem today.

I’m fairly confident this update broke something.

The most recently added Show/episode shown by my players is 5 days ago. Anything newer just doesn’t appear. Even downloaded eps from Shows added today are not visible. Moving a Show to a different folder/library makes them disappear. Creating a test library and copying a few shows remains empty, until I change the scanner from the default “Plex TV Series” to “Plex Series Scanner”. All files are on local drives.

There is an issue with use of the old tv agents for the scanner that arose after the update to openSSL. A fix is being worked on.

Thanks for the update. Much appreciated.

But would my Plex not be using the new TV agent if it is using the new TV scanner by default? It’s when I switched to the Legacy TV scanner (as a test) that new additions show up in my library.

I’m seeing the same behavior as @BastiaanR on the latest Plex server (1.32.1.6983) for Windows. With updated scanner it only detects ~6 shows and then only two-three episodes per show while the old scanner seems to detect everything.

Yep… have the same exact issue… the new scanner/agent is not detecting anything if something new is added to the TV-shows folder… it even erases all the library entries of the old ones and show an empty folder in Plex… everything works fine if you revert to an old legacy scanner/agent for the TV-shows folder… so for now I’m sticking to the Legacy and not upgrading my library to the new one until its fixed… and it seems its still present in newely released Plex Server Version 1.32.1.6999

Same issue for me with 1.32.1.6999, new scanner isn’t detecting newly added files, old scanner works
