Strange TV Shows Added to my Library

My media is stored on a Synology NAS and I’ve just noticed about a dozen TV shows added to my TV Shows mount. The shows are various episodes of Peep Show, Aaah It’s the Mister Hell Show, Fifth Gear, and Married to Medicine.

They are not my TV Shows.
My TV Shows are in subfolders, these are just files in the root of the mount.
They use a couple of different file formats, avi (which I never use) and mp4.
File naming is a bit messy and not my preferred format.
I’m a Plex DVR user but they didn’t come from there.

I’m fairly sure my NAS has not been hacked nor the MacMini running Plex. There’s no other untoward side effects or apparent security breaches.

Has anyone else received unexpected TV shows in their library?

Believe it or not the file timestamps are just before midnight, Christmas Eve. Did Santa give me free TV Shows…

The first thing is to inspect the mediainfo of these phantom shows to determine where the files are stored.
Then browse to these files with the file manager of your OS to inspect them further.

Can you really play these files? Or are there just the metadata of these shows?

You say you are using the DVR edition.
Could it be, that is was simply a mistake of the scheduler so it recorded broadcasts it shouldn’t have?
