Strange Upload from Plex Server running on Mac to IP in London, UK

My firewall is reporting an abnormal upload from the Mac I’m using to run my Plex server. I’m not running much else on the machine.

Destination IP was 88.80.186.253
6.38 MB were uploaded
My source port was 54853
Destination port was TCP 443

My firewall monitoring software indicates:
Linode, LLC
London, UK
Akamai Connected Cloud is affiliated with them

Is anyone else seeing this issue?

Seems similar to this reddit post. The most likely answer is that some random user/bot hit your Plex domain/IP:Port, so your server provided the static web app content (HTML/CSS/JS), which is about 6MB. They should have then been redirected to plex.tv for authentication, and they won’t be able to access any of your actual server content unless they’re authorized to do so.

I should be able to block that domain then?

Actually, digging into the IP, it looks like that’s a Plex Relay server (relay09.pop.lhr.plex.bz), so it could be that you/someone you share with wasn’t able to make a direct connection to your server, so it was routed through Relay.
