Stream local

Hello,
I need your help, I have synology ds918+ I want the plex stream only in my local network. How I can config that?

Connect up the DS918+ such that it can connect to the internet just like your computer can.

Download the Plex software from either the Synology Package Center
-or-
download from Plex.tv/downloads -> Synology -> X86_64 version DSM 6 +

When it starts, give it a minute to stabilize on the Syno (it has first-run stuff to do)
Now open the http://ip.address.of.nas:32400/web in your browser.

It’ll take you to the sign-in, “Got it” , and setup wizard.

When you start adding your media, If you can’t see it, don’t worry. Add the top-level share/folder name. The inability to see the content in PMS is a permission setting which we easily change (Linux is strict about permissions).

I would setup one small library type first so you can get more comfortable. Setting up Music or Photos takes a lot of processing time and will lead to frustration.

Assuming you have defined a library section, In the DSM browser window, go to Control Panel - Shared Folders.

Now look at the shared folders list. Find the one you just added to Plex.

Click it, EDIT it.
Go to the Permissions tab.
You’ll see the username Plex on the left side.

Give user Plex permission to Read (or Read/write) your movies.

Save it.

Go back to Plex and “Scan Files” for the library section you just defined .
It might already be scanning them for you. “Scan Files” makes it start manually if it didn’t.

it’s look like the streaming will out to internet.
I want stream only in my local network in my home.

What are the IP addresses on your LAN?

IP address of computer & NAS ?

My computer ip it’s 10.0.0.4
My nas ip 10.0.0.8
As I said I want to stream only to my internal network

That’s good.

what makes you think PMS is streaming out the internet?

Is Remote Access enabled ? (Settings - Server)

Yes, I can access the nas in my internal network.

If your computer can see your NAS on your home network, PMS knows not to use the external internet.

I realize we are facing a bit of a language barrier here.
Would you prefer to write in your native language? I will then use Google translate back to you.

Ok, I understand thank you.
