Hi. I am having trouble with the subtitle offset function of Plex app on my LG TV. The .srt subtitles are not offset no matter how many ms I add or delay. I have seen questions about it in the forum, but nowhere a reply to a potential solution for this
Are those embedded or external SRTs?
The offset handling only works for external SRTs. If your subtitles are embedded in the file, you should be able to manage it right in the file using some stream metadata.
Not aware of a general issue with offsets not working for external SRTs.
I’m not using this extensively. From what I remember, the effect is not immediate (as in right when you click +/-50 ms buttons) but it’ll only kick-in after you leave the screen.
Thanks. Just tried this - does not work unfortunately.
After leaving the screen the subtitles timing remains unchanged, so the offset does not kick in.
Most times, if you stop playback and return to the series/movie page and push play again the offset is in effect. Which is definitely not ideal, since you have to stop and restart a few times to get the timing right
OP here. Did you file the internal issue and is there an update on this? Because unfortunately the issue still persists, and as you can read, more users are struggling with this.
Apologies, I wasn’t clear. The offsetting isn’t working with my srt files. The vobsub files also don’t always appear, especially on my Amazon Fire app. Thanks
