Subtitle offset

Plex for Android v7.10.0 — External subtitle offset adjustment support
In the update 7.10.0 they implemented option to offset subtitle when using android app and yet i can’t find the option. I watch all movies with external subtitles which i download myself and then rename them with Filebot.
My version of android app is 8.1.0 (latest) and plex server is updated to its latest version . I was looking for this option since i started using plex and only recently i found out that that it exists but i cant use it.
Any help would be appreciated

Supported Plex apps:

  • Android (mobile)

and there is no option for offset

I currently have all my subtitles embedded in my files.
Offset option should be under the Subtitles section (visible after clicking on Unknown (SRT External)).

When i click on unknown (srt external) i only have option to change subtitle with another one.
Could it be the problem that the servers burns in the subtitles when converting? It just came to my mind…

With android mobile client, subtitle offset only available when user has a Plex Pass. Unknown if this is a bug or desired behavior. The documentation does not say a Plex Pass is required.

Thank you for the reply. Can someone from plex staff or moderators confirm this because i dont want to buy plex pass for nothing. I am not interested in any other option that plex pass offers other than this.

This is correct.
From what I understand the related support articles are currently being updated/reviewed with regards to properly flagging Plex Pass features.

I’m experiencing the same issue on my Shield device. Is there any update on this?

This feature still requires a Plex Pass

FYI, subtitle offset should now work for non Plex Pass accounts.

It works only with external text subtitles. Also, the video must be direct play / direct stream. No transcoding.
