I’m running a plex server on my desktop, streaming to my TV through a chromecast and viewing on my phone. I have tried both the android app and the web app, and the problem exists on both. I am playing an mkv with ASS subtitles. The subtitles work and are playing, but it is ignoring the subtitle options I have chosen. I went to settings → advanced → subtitles. I have tried changing each option, including Burn, size, color, background, position, and override included style. None of them are actually applied when playing. Issue is duplicated when I am playing just on the android phone itself. I have tried closing out of the app and reopening, restarting the show from the beginning, and opening different episodes of the same show, and it doesn’t help. How do I get the app to use the settings I have chosen in the app?
The properties of ASS subs are defined during its creation and cannot be changed by your player. If you want your subs to respect your settings, they have to be text based (srt).
