Subtitles always showing in PMP Desktop mode

Server Version#: 1.18.7.2457
Player Version#: 4.27.0

I cannot get subtitles to turn off in PMP Desktop Mode no matter what I try - including changing the server’s “Automatically select” settings. Of course, I have selected “None” from the Playback settings.

There are no subtitles if I switch to PMP TV Mode, nor in any other Plex client that I have tried.

Please help!

I experienced the same issue earlier; it seems to have been introduced in one of the recent 2.52.x versions. However, the forum preview of version 3.0 doesn’t have the problem, so you may want to give that a shot. Per the announcement of the most recent version, it’s going to replace the 2.x line soon anyway:

I’m still experiencing this problem even after the newest ‘v2.52.1’ update that was posted today that’s supposed to fix the issue. From my very limited testing, subtitles display on any file I play that’s being Direct Played, but as soon as I lower the quality to force the transcode, the subtitles go away.

Someone can feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the update for PMP only updated the TV Mode, and did not include any updates for the Desktop Mode. (I inferred that from the 2.51 update specifying that Desktop Mode received an update while later ones did not) For that reason, you can either use PMP 3.0 or go back to PMP 2.51.

Personally, I tried 3.0 and then went back to 2.51 because 3.0 appears to not be able to play video at all, in either mode; but I’m not entirely certain that’s 3.0 and not my system somehow, I just know it didn’t happen until I moved to 3.0 and switching back fixed the issue.
