Subtitles off sync by hours

I have an external subtitle file that is named correctly and is being picked up by the Plex Media Server but the sync is off by hours during playback. I looked at the text file of the .srt and realized each subtitle is numbered 0001-2500 and Plex is starting it at 1200. Clearly it thinks this is the starting time. I’ve looked for other subtitle files and apparently all of them are numbered like this. How on earth do I go about having Plex start it correctly? For an added slap to the face the Spanish and French subtitles are working correctly.

Check the timestamps in the SRT file and make sure they are correct.

Try Subtitle Edit if you need to correct timings, offsets, etc.

Thanks for the help. But sadly the timestamps are all correct. English subtitles are simply starting at subtitle 1200 so it has to be a Plex issue. Plex is even converting my external .srt to Spanish and French and those are starting at subtitle 1.

You might try Plex Dancing the movie & subtitle files. This will force Plex to completely re-analyze things.

If you’ve not already done so, put the movie & subtitles in their own subfolder.
Example:

/Movies
  /movie (year)
    /movie (year).ext
    /movie (year).language.srt

Can you post the subtitle file?

I got it partially figured out. So there seem to be two separate issues. One, I had the file path wrong and didn’t have a subfolder, so thanks for that.

Second, when using OpenSubtitles or another Plex agent, the english subtitles are still starting at subtitle 1200, and the foreign ones at 1. Don’t have an answer for that yet.

I am still not clear about his.
Can you drop the subs into a zip and post it here?

To be clear, Plex does not convert subtitle files. Please provide one of these files as requested so we can see what is going on.
