In the latest update (which as of this post is Version 1.9.7.4460), the subtitles just stop showing towards the end of a video. It appears to be at the 90% mark, which is what I think Plex is using to determine if a video is “watched” or not. I’m guessing some logic changed in the latest update that whenever that 90% mark is hit then stop showing subs?
The issue arises with external subs (I don’t have any content with embedded subs), and if I time skip the video to any point within 90% and 100% (either clicking an area in there or using the buttons to go forward 30s/back 10s) then the subtitles start showing again, so it’s not an issue with the subtitles file. I’ve noticed this with just about every video, and it only started happening in Version 1.9.7.4460. Anyone else having similar issues? If anyone has faced similar issues, do you have a fix/workaround for it? Thank you.
What Plex Client app ? First please ensure you are using latest beta 1.10.0.4523 available from https://plex.tv/downloads
A problem with loss of subtitles in last minute or so of the video has been reported in other forum threads and with media files provided and logs, the problem has been identified and a fix is being produced
If is happening on Plex Web, it can be avoided by disabling Automatically Adjust Quality

I’m using it on the Plex Web, and I don’t have “Automatically Adjust Quality” enabled, so it’s odd that it’s doing that for me. I may just use Thronic’s suggestion and roll back to a previous version.

It may still be the same issue. The fix was actually not related to automatic quality adjustment but the problem was easily reproducible with it enabled.
@sa2000 Auto quality is still giving issues to me too. I’m willing to help as much as I can to find the issue and fix it but I prefer to send logs/files privately. Is there a way? For now i’ll be opening a new topic here. The issue should be easy to reproduce.

If you are losing subtitles near the end of the video when Auto Quality is enabled then this issue has already been identified and a fix being produced and i do not need any more diagnostics for it.
For loss of subtitles in any other way when using the latest Plex Pass Beta release 1.10.0.4523 then i am interested in the logs and details of at what point the subs disappeared and what the client app is and also a media file that gives this issue, In this case, i am happy to receive by private message
