These are the settings I use for myself and my users. The subtitles work for me but always say off for my users.

if they are managed users, you can change to their profile and do it for them.
otherwise, regular shared users with their own plex account, will need to ‘do it themselves’.

Sorry. I was under the impression that updates to the Shield plex server were on the Shield Play Store, but I guess I had to update from the Play Store on the computer and send it to the Shield. Now that I’ve upgraded from 1.18 something to the current version, the subtitles are loading properly for my users.
