Thanks for doing that. I’ve rebooted but remote access is still reporting down. Hopefully the expired certs are at least cleaned up
- I just connected to your server (netcat)
- I loaded Plex/web from your host.
It’s working .
Something else is amuck
Do you have the previous public release of PMS available to back down to?
I smell a rat
The Plex.tv team is digging into what’s not happening.
I will report back to you when I hear from them.
hi im having similar/same problem. Out of the blue im getting remote access unavailable. restarted server changed port checked modem still happens after few minutes of being accessible. Noticed it after a server update few days ago
any solution?
regards

There is a problem with Plex.tv reporting Remote Access not available when it is.
The team is working on it now.
Using the data your server posted to plex.tv.
We cannot ping or connect to your server port from plex.tv or manually from our workstations
Check your networking
@ChuckPa network seems fine nothing changed …modem is fritz and port is open… server just changes from available to unavailable within minutes could be the problem you just mentioned?
There is something not being forwarded or being intermittent .
Is your server IP static or DHCP?
( A DHCP server can change at random )
What I get is this -
[chuck@lizum ~.2009]$ netcat -vvvv XX.XXX.XXX.131 32400
netcat: connect to XX.XXX.XXX.131 port 32400 (tcp) failed: Connection timed out
ip is not static
Please consider making the server’s LAN IP static addressed.
Doing so ensures your port forwarding will always work.
It’s difficult to port forward when the address can change.
I tried to ping / connect to your server’s published port number and it was not there.
I have the same problem, iv tried everything
I looked at Plex.tv.
From there, I used your IP and port to attempt server connection.
[chuck@lizum ~.2003]$ netcat -vvvv 8X.XX9.X6.X2 15353
netcat: connect to 8X.XX9.X6.X2 port 15353 (tcp) failed: Connection timed out
[chuck@lizum ~.2004]$
This is your server’s IP and port ?
I updated my plex server the other day and now struggling with remote access. It goes green for a few seconds when I retry or restart and then goes back to unavailable.
Version 1.32.5.7349
Thanks.
if you go back to a previous version
-AND-
Remote Access is restored
PLEASE let me know the details.
From which version (?) to 1.32.5.7349 ??
I need to know so I can do a regression recheck
@ChuckPa, Actually, I changed too many variables I switched the server from wired to wireless and had to change the port forwarding IP on the network. So to recap on public version 1.32.5.7349. Remote access was not working. I switched to Beta channel/version 1.32.6.7371. Now remote access is working again. I am on a wired static IP with the port forwarding now.
Thanks.
Thanks for clarifying.
I was getting concerned.
It’s good to know it’s not a PMS regression and just a stack of changes which were slightly out of sync.

I have same problem with the loss of remote access. Could you reset my certificate? Thanks!
Your issue , without seeing your server logs, isn’t certificate.
Your issue is that the server will not connect at least 1 time to Plex.tv .
Can you show me the DEBUG logs, captured 3 minutes after startup. where it attempts to enable remote access?
