My Ubuntu server is up-to-date and suddenly there seems to be a new Plex program on my Android phones which says to scroll through to see all the nifty new features except when that is done I cannot connect to my music library - there is no option for my music library on the phone. It’s just home, libraries, live TV, on demand and discover. When I click on “libraries” I get a screen which says “no libraries found” “looks like you don’t own or have access to any servers” blah blah blah.
But, of course, I do. I can play music through my Web browser on my local network. Secure connection only is enabled. It seems someone borked something in the new and improved Android software. So, congrats for that.
Remote access, BTW, is enabled and says access is available outside my local network. But, of course, it’s not available.
All of this in addition to the fact that you now want money for something that works, at best, for six months without crashing and requiring complete removal and reinstallation because my time is valuable and this is faster than dealing with the hours/days of trying to fix the problem by using these forums.
But now you have made your product unusable. So I’m back.
Edit: I think I might not have been clear. I cannot connect to my Plex media server to listen to music on my Android phones even if I am on my local network. So, I do not think this is a “remote access” issue.
Also, I have an older Motorola phone which I use as a remote for various things, including when I want to listen via Plex to my music when I’m at home. And, interestingly, this Android phone still has the “old” Plex/Android software - the one with the “hamburger” menu which you all seem so thrilled to dump - but it still works. I can play music at home via Plex and, I imagine, if I took the old Motorola beater off site I could probably listen remotely to my music via Plex.
Just to be sure, I turned on the bluetooth speaker, paired it with the old Moto phone and - music!
How about that.
