Switched to fiber optic - can’t access server at all

I’m very new to working on my Plex system. We switched ISP today because spectrum is more expensive for less - everything else works except my Plex server. I cannot even access it to tell you what version it is running.

The person who used to help me with this no longer is able to. I have a huge library that I fear I will no longer be able to access. Is anyone available to help?

1: Can you access it locally?
2: Did you set up port forwarding in your new router?
3: Go to this site https://canyouseeme.org/ and put in port 32400 to check if it is open or maybe being blocked by your new ISP.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. I am honestly very much over my head here.

  1. I attempted to hook up a monitor to the server to see if I could access it locally - but it isn’t registering the monitor.
  2. I did not set up port forwarding for my new router.
  3. I am getting a message saying " I could not see your service on IP ADDRESS" on the website - it says connection timed out.
  1. To access your server locally from your LAN go to http://<your servers lan ip>:32400/web
  2. You need to set up port forwarding to open port 32400 and send it to the LAN IP address of your Plex server for your server to be accessible from outside your LAN.
  3. If #2 is not done you most likely will not see port 32400 open.

Try #1 to access your server on your LAN and correct #2 and advise.

Sounds like you had a new router as part of your internet upgrade?

There are two possible problems (but you can be fairly confident your media is ok -
So try not to panic)

It’s crucial you work out what ip address the server used. It’s possible whoever helped you set an ip address on the server… like 192.168.0.100 and your new isp assigns ip addresses in the 192.168.1.0 range. Meaning, although you have internet and other “stuff” works, you wont be able to access your server. You really need to get that monitor working….

On a windows computer, type cmd and the ipconfig. Not your ip and the “gateway ip” and put the gateway ip into a browser. (The gateway will likely be the admin page on the router.

From there you will be able to see whats plugged into what port

hello, thank you.

I think i know what my old IP address for the server is because i have certain pages that accessed the server bookmarked.
