Synced track skipping to next track

Plex Media Server Version 1.20.2.3402
PlexAmp 3.2.1

So to be fully honest, I’m not sure if this is a Plex Media Server issue or a PlexAmp issue, but it happens to me when I’m using PlexAmp so I guess that would probably make it the best place to take a first look. On to the issue:

I have a couple of synced playlists that are a couple hundred tracks in length PlexAmp on my Samsung S10e, and I’ve noticed that sometimes when playing a fully synced playlist a track will skip to the next track after playing for maybe half-a-minute to a minute or so, as if the track has ended. I’m not sure what’s causing this, but I did look through the PlexAmp logs and I can see about where it happened. I’ll include the Plexamp.log file that has the time period. I’ll include the Plex Media Server.log as well, just in case that could help give some clues.

The track this happened with is Summer of Love by Waxahatchee (although it has happened many times in the past with different tracks, and this song does indeed work because I’ve listened to it many times before with PlexAmp) which first shows up in the log at Oct 06, 2020 11:42:20.843. It looks to me (with my very limited JavaScript knowledge) that maybe something started acting up around Oct 06, 2020 11:43:16.572.

nothing obvious in the logs. if you downloaded it ages ago (like shortly after v3), delete and re-download, as we were storing the files in a location where Android could be…destructive to them.

Alright, I’ll give that a try. I’m guessing everything in the logs is pretty typical.

However, my log is complaining about a deprecated version of React Native, but I think it actually might have to do with the app using an old interface and data shape that is no longer in use. See here: Shows this warning -> "Warning: RNCNetInfo - You are using the deprecated API..." even with latest version · Issue #123 · react-native-netinfo/react-native-netinfo · GitHub

WARNING - Warning: RNCNetInfo - You are using the deprecated API. It will still work, but you must upgrade to the new API to receive the new features. The old API will be removed in the future.

you can safely ignore that one

I just had it happen again: 99619639449860.zip (469.7 KB)

This time it was a track from a synced album.

The same track just did it again, literally as I was editing my previous comment. Maybe PlexAmp isn’t always syncing tracks correctly?

And I actually just had this happen again today with a different album. I synced this one like 15-20 minutes before it got to this track (I downloaded the album and then started playing it from track 1).

I’m hoping that several different logs from several different instances of this happening will help sort this out.

i’m really sorry, but there’s nothing obvious which stands out in the logs. if you can narrow it down being to a specific track that would be super interesting.

Yeah, it seems to not be specific tracks, but just tracks that have been synced to my phone.
