Synology 1515+ (6 YO) will not power on

I have been able to get my Plex up and running on.my migrated Synology DS1522+. I created libraries for my >1600 movie DVDs and >5000 music CDs. it took nearly 3 days for Plex to scan and load the CDs. I decided that I wanted to add some smaller libraries for my CD collection. At this point I have added folders to my DS.File Station and copied or moved my data to the folders for Christmas, Comedy, Movie Sound Tracks, Musical and Variety Artists. I am not thrilled how Plex organized some of these CDs. I followed the instructions and added corresponding Libraries to my Plex and pointed them to the correct folders. Plex says these folders are still empty and I donā€™t know how to get them to load. I saw a tip that said that I may need to, ā€œ restart a client/player appā€. I have no Idea what that means and how to go about it. Iā€™m confused!

Whenever you write new stuff to the Syno, especially from a pc, the permissions wonā€™t allow ā€œPlexMediaServerā€ to see them.

You need to manually force them.

The Syno FAQ has a lot of How-Toā€™s and Tips for things like this.

I still have a lot of work to organize my Music collection. Is there any easy tricks to get the artists to sort by their last name? I know how to edit each one individually.

I have not even started to look at my Movie collection.

Before creating the music section, I did the work (a labor of love) to get everything named and structured.

There are many tools. I used MusicBrainz picard tool because I could see each as it was done and had full control over everything.

All my names now are in Plex naming standard

Iā€™ll share those naming rules if you wish.

As for Movies and TV series. My answer to that is FileBot (but there are many others)

I wrote the renaming rules to put them into Plex standard.

I did the Drag (Click) -Drop (Let go) -Lookup (Click) -Rename (Click) a bunch of times as Iā€™d only do 20-30 at a time.

TV series were done one series at a time because of the episodes involved but you can do more if youā€™re confident.
