Synology connected by Ethernet adapter to TV, Plex not working

Hi , please help me out. I connected my LG C9 to network by Ethernet adapter to port 3 USB.
Netflix working just fine, increasing connection speed as expected. Very nice in did.

Now, starting internal app onLG C9, Plex and unfortunately my Synology 920+ is not connected to C9.
What I understand the TV may have been given a new IP address / network settings by using the adapter.
Were and what should I change?

The adapter itself won’t change the network behavior of your TV. It could however be that your router is using different subnets for wired and wireless connections. If your server and the TV are on different subnets, they won’t see each other.

Thanks for answer.
Here is my router connections:
router
My knowledge of the subject is almost non-existent and I don’t know where to start.
192.168.0.129 is Synology 920+.

All that says is that there’s 2 connections to the LG WebOS TV from your router. I take it you’ve got 2 LG TVs in your home network – or have you connected your TV 2x to your network (1x using the dedicated LAN port and 1x using the Ethernet/USB adapter)?

Thanks for adding the local IP of your Synology. With all devices in the same subnet, they should actually be able to see each other. Does this issue persist if you restart the Plex app or reboot the TV?

I perform reboot of router, NAS, TV and got this:
router
unknown 00:11:32:CA:D6:41 192.168.0.129/24 1000 Ethernet 3 is Synology 920+
unknown 44:FE:3B:60:1A:EA 192.168.0.32/24 1000 Other, don’t know what it is.
Netflix connected to Ethernet working just fine but Plex not find NAS. Both are in the same subnet.

Question is not so much what’s showing in your router but if Plex on the TV is picking up its connection after the restart.

After couple of restarts of all my equipment (TV, NAS, router) its working. Thank you!
Last question: I have a little “problem” with subtitles when adding e.g. English then file wont play or is not showing. This is not big issue but some foreign movies required subtitles.
CPU on NAS is almost 98% then.
this problem does not occur with smaller files, e.g. 1080i, but always with 4K

If your client does not natively support the subtitle format, your server will attempt to burn the subtitle into the video stream. That’s technically a transcoding. Your NAS isn’t strong enough to transcode 4K content.

I’m not super familiar with the LG client – I know the current-generation clients on Apple TV and Android TV will direct-play most subtitle formats. You can either check out some different client or aim at avoiding that kind of transcoding (e.g. by using media formats supported by the client). When it comes to subtitles, text based SRT subtitles should be the most compatible format.

Well, I always use SRT files so the issue is on NAS I reckon.
What you mean with LG client? On LG TV I use embedded Plex application when watching movies from my NAS.

“LG client” means Plex app on the LG WebOS TV.

The issue is that your NAS is not powerful enough to transcode your 4K video while the Plex client on your TV cannot direct play the specific combination video/audio/subtitle in those files.

Thank you for your answer.
Nothing to do then.

There’s always something you can do.
Starting with optimizing your media for your use case… if the server isn’t powerful enough to transcode, make sure your media is compatible with your devices. One way to do this is by getting the right versions right away – another way is to actually optimize the media through Plex or a 3rd party app like Handbrake.
