So My DS415 Synology has been running fine and seamlessly for about 4 years, with Plex media server and apps on TV.

I turned on TV last night and started plex and it had upgraded the version. Could not see any of my own media.

Went to server and was still running old version (cant remember now) but when I clicked on open to go to interface it it had updated, and when clicking on the pinned My media it just went to a download plex media server.

I did this and installed it etc, and same again and same again and repeat.

I completely uninstalled PMS, restarted server and reinstalled and exaclty the same.

PMS is working and I can login but everytime I go to my media it just asks me to download PMS again.

Yes, as i said the server was still running the old version. but when I clicked open it ‘seemed’ to be a new version and my media was not accessible.

I have defintely manually installed it now, like 10x so the screeshorts are indeed from a manual install.

No the plex share is still there.

As for update, it says it is running the latest version, if I go to Synology it tells me there is an Update 2 and when I click to get it manually, not sure which is needed, just a big list of files, not sure which I need - sorry

OK so this has changed things, finally. Now it starts the plex media server setup when I open the PMS from the Synology.

However, it then goes through some screens, first error messge is cannot save settings but it continues then it says it cannot claim server but continues. It finally reaches the below screen and as you can see it says server is unclaimed, and I have to tried to but it fails.
It also says there is an update available? LOL

No, nothing on my network has changed. I was watching Plex last night until this happened. The Synology is connected directly to the router and out to the Internet.

Yes I think this is a Synology issue and not plex, or at least networking tied to the Synology as in the package centre it will not connect with the all packages option. mmmmmm.

OK, so i found in the synology forum a similar issue (not related to plex though but with connectivity in package centre) and it involved disabling Ipv6. I did that, restarted server. Now the package centre works and connects externally.

I tried PMS again but same issue, so i renamed preferences again to start wizard, this time a little different, it goes startight through with no pauses, and gets to the ‘you need to claim your server screen’, however, I then cannot click on claim server, it does nothing. Also the server is obviously now seeing outside as the update field shows as up to date, which before said I needed an update. So when I click the claim server button, nothing happens.

OMG - So i figured it was a browser issue and tried Chrome and FF but still same issue so that is why I posted here. So I went to my other computer, tried Edge (yuck) and it worked!!! everything is now working as it should.
