Synology DS920+ Losing remote access

Server Version#:1.23.3.4707
Player Version#:4.57.4

Hello everyone

I am facing a problem which I can’t find a solution to, even though I might know the issue but I am hoping someone could help me out finding an easy solution to this. I have a PMS running on one of my computers at home and it is working totally fine with remote access enabled and is ok. I bought a new Synology DS920+ because I want to transfer everything to it and have it running the server instead of the computer but before I do that I wanted to test things out so I ran another account PMS and just put one folder to check things out, the issue is remote access looks fine the moment I set a different port than the other server of course but after few seconds it goes not available with ! mark.

I port forwarded the new port and tried changing it multiple times every time I press retry shows available then few seconds goes off by itself, any help would be appreciated.

oh and yes IP is static on the Synology and port forwarded just like I did on the computer in my router settings. Not sure if there is rules like the windows one in synology to do for the ports though.

Thank you will try them and write an update.

That worked beautifully too bad I been using regular port forwarding which didn’t have any external and internal now that I used your method for virtual server it is working on my synology! thanks man. Now to do more testing and see if it can handle the load lol

My step father recently set up a Synology like you did. For some reason, films he has aren’t playing for me properly (I’m trying to access it remotely). We’ve ensured remote access is on, but still no luck. I’ll try to play a movie, but all I see is a black screen (I hear audio just fine). He can play it just fine on his end, though.

Any thoughts on how we can fix remote viewing for this? It doesn’t seem to be geared to just one film either, all of his films I can’t watch really because it looks grainy or is just a black screen - not sure why this is happening.
