This might indeed be a regression.
If you roll back (Uninstall + KEEP) then install previous version,
Does the problem go away?

I have two Plex Server, one on Synology and one inside Windows VM.
The Windows VM is sometimes extremely slow or did not show search results. The Test-DB is nearly empty just live-tv/DVR.
Is this a similar problem?
There is no way of knowing without knowing a lot more about the VM itself, and seeing log files which captures errors/failures, because VMs introduce a huge amount of overhead & loss which occurs just because it’s virtualized (emulated) all the hardware.
Hi,
sorry, i don’t want to do a rollack of the synology.
There must be a other solution.
I would really like you to downgrade to the previous PMS version.
DSM itself does not change.
It’s the only way to definitively determine if there is a real database or real software problem.
I can provide you with any version you wish.
My recommendation is PMS 1.31.3.6999
Hello! Please add the ability to manage permissions for a package installed manually from the site.
I want to share DSM with other users, but I can’t hide them from DSM Plex
Please explain what you are tying to do ?
DSM file permissions for users have the same Control Panel - Shared Folders controls as PlexMediaServer
PlexMediaServer exists on DSM 7 as a non-privileged system service. It has no ability to interact with DSM except for what you give it via Control Panel - Shared Folders - Permissions.
Not had a request to hide it.
I will look at supporting.
ui/config ADD
“grantPrivilege”: “all”,
“advanceGrantPrivilege”: true
hi, ok. I can do this. Please provide me the link for the version.
I attempted to add the privilege keys as you defined – no success
– DSM stripped those keys from the config file during installation.
I manually added the keys to the config file and restarted DSM
– PlexMediaServer is not listed.
I searched the DSM 7 SDK documentation. There is no reference for either of these two keys.
Can you please provide a full ui/config file as you have it working and show a screenshot with Plex Media Server listed (Control Panel - Application Privileges) ?
SYNO.SDS is reserved for applications which interact with the desktop.
PMS is not such an application. It runs as a service.
I tested it anyway – No success.
There is additional information missing.
I will discuss with Synology.
Why isn’t Plex from Synology Package Center updated? There is a very old version in the package center. Do you have a 3rd party repository that I can enable to automatically update Plex?
Getting Plex updated in Package Center is a very slow process for us.
We have to submit each package and wait for Synology to approve it.
We are working on our own repository but it’s not ready yet.
How do I know that the repository is ready and can be used?
There will be both a release announcement and
There will be a forum banner in the NAS & Devices section.
I greatly appreciate all your help but there are rules we must follow.
Please do not post unauthorized SPKs of Plex Media Server on the forum.
I will make the changes officially and release them
