The Synology Package center indicated that a couple of packages needed to be repaired/updated, PMS being on of them, so I allow.

This is the cause of the failure.

The changes (Permission changes because username changed) cannot be handled automatically by package center.

At this point.

1. Uninstall the DSM 7 package and use the ERASE option (makes “PlexMediaServer” empty)

2. You will want to install 1.29.2 from Package Center.

3. Using this FAQ, scroll down to scenario 2.

• You will want to confirm FULL CONTROL of This folder, sub-folders and files belong to PlexMediaServer for everything in the “Plex” shared folder.
• As soon as you accomplish this, The DSM 7 package installer will automatically do the rest for you. DO NOT INTERRUPT IT.
  – File: Plex/Migration.log will allow you to track progress of the upgrade migration
  – “Cleaning Completed” means it’s done.
