My plex media server hasn’t scanned any new movies or shows I’ve downloaded for the past 9 days. I’m at a complete loss as to why this is happening. I recently had a bunch of problems updating Plex after DSM 7 but all seemed fine after working through them. I checked my database today and noticed nothing has been added in 9 days. I triple checked my permissions, my server settings, library settings etc. I’ve deleted and re-added my entire library 3x but for whatever reason the server won’t pickup new folders added within the last 9 days. I have no clue what I may have done 9 days ago but I wish I had a time machine…Any help would be appreciated I’ve been using Plex since day 1 and I’ve been paying plexpass fees for like 7 years.
Please turn off verbose logging. It causes the log files to wrap too quickly. Settings → Server_Name → General (not Settings → Plex Web → General).

Reset your file permissions, even if DSM says they are OK.
You have many (hundreds) “Permission denied” errors in the log files.
Make sure the system internal user PlexMediaServer has at least read-only access to the appropriate directories / shared folders.

Be sure to check the box next to “Apply to this folder, subfolder & files.”

Rescan the libraries after resetting the file permissions.
Thanks much! This worked kind of, permissions wouldn’t stick via the Control Panel ‘Shared Folders’ section. I had to go into the file manager and go-to the permissions property panel for each shared folder and ‘add’ new permissions. Really strange but it did work. All seems back to normal. Thanks again
With, DS218+, I solved the library not updating in DSM7 problem in Permissions by allowing the Plex Media Server with a Custom, full access to File Station under System Internal User; edit each Plex Shared Folder, check apply to folder subfolders and files, save, then restart your server.
