I changed my NAS server ip address. I moved stuff to vlans. Now for the life of me I can not figure out how to get my Plex log-in account to connect with my server.
I have tried digging through the knowledge base and FAQ without much luck. I have tried updating my server to the latest update which was just a few days ago on Nov 25th. No luck or change, I’ve gone directly to my local server via the http://WEB-IP-ADDRESS/web on my local LAN> I see no where to change or add my server ip address. I’ve double checked my firewall settings to make sure ports are open… No luck.
It should not be this difficult to find these settings. The Plex development team needs to make this setting readily available when I click on the “settings wrench” it is absurd that I have to uninstall and reinstall just to walk through the wizard to find this setting. Or that I have to dig and dig through help files, use a Facebook group to try and get answers. For f’s sake put the settings of the server connection so that it pops up on the left hand menu bar when I click the settings wrench.
Now if someone could please help me. I would really appreciate it. I’m tired or trying and this has been going on for over a month for me.

That also is my user id for signing on to Plex and I just bought the lifetime Plex Pass that is attached to that id.
The first step here is to confirm your Syno can get out to the internet.
The easiest test/confirmation is to open Package Center and install one of their apps.
I recommend “Text Editor”. Of all of them, it’s the one you might need to use with Plex in the future if you want to customize certain things.
If you can’t install the app – you know what you need to fix with your networking.
Once you do get it to install cleanly,
Uninstall the Plex app , use the “KEEP” (first) radio button.
Reinstall the same SPK file again, EXCEPT
– Click the ‘New or Lost’ servers (Plex Claim Token method)
– Click the hyperlink to “Get Plex Claim Token”
– From the browser tab which opens, COPY the token
– Return to the installation form and PASTE that token into the box.
Click NEXT - NEXT - DONE and let it install.
This will add a few seconds to the normal installation time while the installer gets new credentials from Plex.tv
When it’s done, you’ll get the normal “Successful” message
AND
You will also see the results of it claim process.
You should see “Claimed by: YourPlexUsername”
When that’s done, you can reopen your browsers & apps (so they reload the server info from Plex.tv)
