Synology NAS Not Authorized Error DSM7

Just updated to DSM 7 and it broke plex. I have followed all steps I could find on the forums. I have reinstalled the most up to date server package through the manual install with the claim token. I believe I need to somehow “set up” the new install somehow. I know the quick connect through the DSM will not do this correctly. I have tried accessing Plex through ip:32400, however I have not seen anything to “set up” or claim the server. I am now only getting “Server not available” and “Not Authorized” Errors. I attached my most recent logs, any help is greatly appreciated.

I have some things - No specific order:

  1. Which IP is the primary IP address (default gateway set) and which was Plex set to use? (FYI: Two adapters on the same subnet is not good practice. Bond them as one adapter if you want both to use. This yields one IP address and you can guarantee all traffic will flow to/from it.

  1. You can’t get to anything because DNS is broken (possibly because of the network adapters above)

Make sure the default DNS IP points to your modem/router.

Fix this, Restart the Syno, Retest

We won’t pass judgement on how well the install went until this is fixed because there’s no internet connectivity to download the certificate and new codecs.

The network issues should be resolved now. Plex now seems to have found all the files again, however they are all being marked as unavailable. I tried uninstalling PMS and reinstalling with a claim ticket again, with no luck. Initial entry to Plex server was through IP:32400.

@jaykster13

Not available – is a permissions problem.

I take it you didn’t read this?

That fixed it. My apologizes, I had read that and executed it. However I did not realize reinstall reset this setting. Thanks for your help!

It wasn’t the reinstallation. It was migrating from DSM 6 → DSM 7.

In DSM 6, we used username Plex.
DSM 7 made us change username. Now we use PlexMediaServer.

You might want to catch up on all the changes.
