Synology Server Broken

Server Version#: 1.16.5.1554-1e5ff713d
Player Version#: Version 3.108.2

Hi all, having a proper nightmare here. I have had Plex running on my DS2413+ for years. Yesterday I updated it and it went completely pear shaped. It no longer registers to the service so no server available. I removed the server, uninstalled it, reinstalled it and again no server.

A server could not be found. Download and install Plex Media Server, and it will appear here.

So I uninstalled again, deleted the PLEX folder from the synology. Tried older versions, current versions, rebooted the NAS, reboot network kit. Nothing.

Just now I installed a Windows version to test network. This connects fine and starts the new server wizard. I never get this with the Synology. So what am I missing with it? Why won’t it register as a new server?

Log as follows:

“type”: “info”,
“host”: “nas:32400”,
“userAgent”: “Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/78.0.3879.0 Safari/537.36 Edg/78.0.249.1”,

gs",
“args”: [

Followed several online suggestions but I cannot get it to register and start the setup.
Please help.
Cheers,
Rob

Sorry, the log is from the Plex Web app, not from the server.

Have you seen Plex Media Server security changes for Synology users
?

Thanks for quick response.

I have finally managed to access it by removing the local server name from the URL and using the server IP instead. This then started the setup wizard and now I am adding my libraries back. But is that normal? I don’t remember ever having to do that before.
Rob

Using a custom URL for the initial setup is not supported. It has always been the private IP of the NAS.

Noted thanks
