I am really tired because the main issues is repeating and I don’t find any answer on forums :
My server is always not recognized when starting my computer.
The only thing working is, when I see that, to always uninstall and install the app. And there it working…It is non sense for me and it is tiring to do that everytime.
Plus, now, I discovered another issue I never met before : I downloaded a serie, I watched some episodes. And the next day, Plex told me the episodes are note “available” anymore…I tried to install again the app, to log out log in, to restart the computer, to scan the library, or even change the names, but NOTHING. And, really : WHY ? As the episodes are perfectly working on my computer, NOTHING changed…
When will Plex finally fix these big technical issues ? It’s so tiring to deal with technical issues everytime you just want to chill…
Please, if someone has an idea, don’t hesitate…I tried everything and I’m so DONE with that.
Try to manually start Plex Media Server from the Start menu of Windows.
Don’t expect it to open your web browser and the Plex web app.
You can do that either by right-clicking on the Plex icon in your task tray, or by visiting https://app.plex.tv (you should save that as a bookmark)
Verify the same right-click menu for the check mark on “Start Plex Media Server at Login”.
Where are your video files stored?
Are they outside of the Plex server machine, perhaps on an external hard drive or even on a network file share? If they are, make sure to disable this checkbox:
Settings - Server - Library - “Empty trash automatically after every scan”
Another thing to check is the health of your server database.
If your Windows computer lost power or was hard rebooted while Plex server was running, it might have damaged the server main database. Which can cause pretty weird issues.
If you download either the .bat or the .ps1 file from this project PlexDBRepair/Windows at master · ChuckPa/PlexDBRepair · GitHub and run it, it can try to automatically repair and rebuild your database. This saves you from executing all the manual command line steps set forth in https://support.plex.tv/articles/repair-a-corrupted-database/
Server Version#: Last one
Player Version#: Last I think
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>
I already created a topic but came too late to answer, so I create a new one :
my issue was that my server couldn’t connect itself to Plex and I was forced to uninstall The app and install it again.
BUT, luckily, thanks to answers, I was able to fix this ! (Indeed my Plex app wasn’t on the same computer’s disk as my medias !
NONETHELESS, one issue remain : I added new files (one movie and one series), and nearly all of them (except some episodes) can’t be played anymore ! It is written “unavailable” in red on Plex, but strangely the file perfectly work as I can play it on my computer when I click on the source file directly. And I don’t understand why these files and not the others…Can you guide me for this one please ?
