Also, there is a message to update my Plex version. I just updated it today, with the most recent version = 1.26.2.5797. This is what it shows. I wonder if there is a communication problem.
reproduce, and after that, using WinSCP, download and zip the logs directory, and upload here
I’m hoping this is the Log folder, zipped up, you are referring to, if not let me know?
Edit, removed unneeded attachment
You’ll need the folder one level up. That folder should contain a file named Plex Media Server.log (among others that could contain valuable information).
This should be what you are referring to. I had to zip each folder independently, win 10 zip ability is limited. Excepting the Metadata folder which is limited to my content, if you need it, let me know.
Crash Reports.zip (8.1 KB)
Logs.zip (2.9 MB)
Edit: Removed unneeded attachment
Even though they are zipped the Cache, Media and Plug in support folders are too big to be uploaded for this forum.
Restart you WD box, and then try again
Nope, that didn’t work. It still will not sign in. I tried with two different browsers too.
Im seeing a large number of SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name 'plex.tv' errors…
Yep, asked devs about that ![]()
Huh ? Who’s devs ? Is there anything you want me to do?
How about this idea. Should I enter Plex as a trusted website to my security? I’m using McAfee.
Dane22 works for Plex, and has contact the Plex developers asking about that error code that we found in the logs. At this point lets wait to hear back from them, they may have a solution or may need more info.
Okay, thanks for the reply. I’ll wait.
I research how to add Plex’s From and To IP addresses as trusted IP’s to my firewall, if that’s necessary later. I’ll just need to know what they are.
Hi there @elxsand
According to our developers, this could happen, if there’s something in between your NAS and the internet, and that is messing with the certs.
So I need you to describe in details what kind of setup we are looking at.
Like:
- My NAS is connected to my firewall router
- My router is model XXX from Vendor YYY
- My ISP is?
- On my NAS I run Antivirus SW named ZZZ
My NAS is connected to my Router/firewall which is an Model Rt-AC88U, Vendor ASUS. I updated my firmware yesterday.
My ISP is aa.bb.cc.dd
My NAS doesn’t run the anti virus, my Desktop does which is McAfee livesafe.
I can add Plex’s IP addresses as trusted IPs, to my Antivirus SW. I just need to know what they are, From and To.
I need the name of your ISP ![]()

Hi Dane22,
I haven’t heard from you in awhile. What’s the status with Dev? Will I be able to claim my server soon?
Let me know.
Dane22,
Sorry about the previous message. I was able to claim my server and the notice to update my version also went away.
Thanks for everything, you were a huge help; it was also a great learning experience.
