The App no longer accesses my NAS server

Yes. But PlexOnLIneHome=1" had extra words attached to it’s beginning. I can sent you the Original and edited Preference.xml, for your review.
I don’t see a way to attach a file in this space. Can I just drag and drop?

DO NOT POST YOU FILE HERE !!!

It contains the token (Super duper password) to your server !

And in the mean time, I looked up your server, and can see you didn’t share with anybody, so let’s try something different.

Power off PMS
In WinSCP, locate and select the file Preferences.xml
Press F2 and rename it to OLDPreferences.xml
Then start your PMS again, wait 1 min, and browse towards it again

I opened up PMS, waited. Then browsed to the preference.xml file, now what?

Oh, when you say power off PMS. You mean the App only , NOT this support Forum, Right?

This, and from your WD control center, if such a thing exists

And if in doubt, simply restart your WD box from it’s admin console

I’ll shut down and restart WD server. Let see what happens?

What I meant by App only, is the website app. I restarted WD, no change with Plex. Also the OLDpreferencexml. never changed either? I was suprised Plex actually opened since the file name was changed. What do you want me to do with that file?

Nothing, now once again, browse to http://<IP_OF_PMS>:32400/identity and show the output

I think we have a winner !

Cool…

Now try another browser, or incognito mode, and you should be prompted to claim it, and if not, tell me if the IP Address of your workstation starts with 192.168.1 ?

And for ref, it’s now close to 1.30 @ night here in Denmark, so bedtime now!

My IPv4P IP is 192.168.1.xxx, from WD PR 2100, it’s also my LAN IP.
I’m using my EDGE browser to sign in, but it’s just spinning in a loop. Shouldn’t I remove the word OLD from the preference.xml file, so Plex can recognize it?

Good night, thanks for the help, probably see you in the morning.

Plex will recreate the xml file with the new data. By doing that you basically are resetting its configuration. Please use a chrome incognito window to sign in. Should fix that spinning issue, and let you claim the server.

It finally stopped spinning.
There’s good news and bad news. The good news is Setting>general> Claim Server radio toggle pops up. But when I try and claim the server it fails to do so, In the early setup process it did state that there is some kind problem talking to server, the message went by to fast.

Should I sign out and try claiming on a different browser?

yeah if its not claiming it could be a temporary network issue, I would recommend using a chrome incognito tab to claim the server

I don’t have chrome. Can I do incognito with Firefox?

yeah, you can

Firefox gave me the same old problem. I resigned into EDGE and logon to Plex. Everything looks great. When I tried to claim server, it said it’s having a problem logging into Plex. So I’m going to log out of this forum and see if that does the trick. I’m logged out everywhere else.

There is one step left to do. That’s to get the app to claim my server. When I click on the toggle, it spins for a bit then an error message pops up " There was a problem signing into Plex" So I’ve turned off my firewall and VPN, but I get the same result. My using Firefox and Edge as browsers. Oh, I checked my WD PR 2100, PC and the time is set correctly.

Does anyone have any ideas how to get the App to claim my server or sign into Plex?
