The connection is not strong enough to play this video

Jeg bruger også appen. Men jeg har læst at mvk ikke er kompatabel, og det kan da kun være derfor jeg får meddelelse.

Det bor på webbrowseren og appen.

if the mkv was the problem and your server could not transcode then the error would say “this server is not powerful enough”

An era is over: Plex will drop Plex Media Player and thus also HTPCs
by Morten Bay - August 16, 2019 - 72
Soon it will no longer be possible to use Plex in a traditional HTPC setup, the people behind it announce.

Although there are now streaming boxes and protocols in droves that make it unnecessary, there should probably be some who stick to their HTPC setup. Traditionally, such a setup has included a media PC that is connected directly to a TV and from which one could then control all the antics.

One of the most popular platforms for this use is Plex, which originated from the early HTPC platform XMBC (which has since become KODI). But soon it will no longer be possible to use Plex as pure media PC software on an HTPC. At least not if you want to have a constantly updated and secure system.

Until January, the people behind Plex will stop supporting Plex Media Player, which is the version of Plex that is currently can run isolated on an HTPC as standalone software. Instead, Plex will focus on a desktop app and then the server software that Plex is also known for.

“The long-term plan is for the new desktop app to replace Plex Media Player as our only desktop solution,” the Plex people write in connection with the launch of the new app. But even though they have launched an app to replace Plex Media Player, do not think that this can be used on your HTPC instead.

No “TV Mode”

“The new app does not have any ‘TV Mode’, which means that we stop supporting the traditional HTPC setup (where a computer is connected directly to a TV or home theater equipment) with the launch of this app” , Plex writes in a blog post.

“It marks the end of an era for us, and it would be a lie if we said that it was not with bitterness that we made the decision,” it is further stated in the post. The desktop app is therefore primarily made for people who watch TV on their laptops or a computer monitor.

In principle, a TV can also be used as a computer monitor, but the desktop app will not be able to provide users with the remote-friendly user interface that TV Mode otherwise provides in Plex Media Player, and it will probably be difficult to use the new desktop app in the long run without a mouse and a keyboard (or a touch screen).

However, Plex Media Server does not seem to go anywhere, on the contrary, Plex encourages you to use a streaming box or similar with the Plex app to stream your videos, music, etc. with. Among other things, Plex points out that this is better for the environment, as e.g. a laptop you already use anyway, and a streaming box uses less power than a dedicated HTPC that stands and knuckles in a closet.

Well, then it probably could not recode. It can only be mvk who teases. Then I just need to convert them to mp4.

You seem to be really intent on not caring about anything I say. Since you clearly believe you have all the answers from these random websites you are quoting, why are you here?

again, mkv is just a container.
PMS can handle mkv containers just fine, i am streaming one right now. Look at the codecs and bitrates that are “inside”.

Large wheel. You said that if mvk was the problem and that it did not transcode, then that is why it happened.

I mean your name Big Wheel.

Big Whee? You said that if mvk was the problem and that it did not transcode, then that is why it happened.

I only mentioned various reasons that something might transcode.

“The connection is not strong enough to play this video” this error has nothing to do with file type. it has to due with network. if you are playing locally then your internet speed has nothing do do with it.

You tagged this topic with Plex Media Player. if you are not using Plex Media Player why did you tag it as such? I still have idea what player you are using. ( the server is not a player)

if you are on windows try our windows player instead of using the web browser if that is what you are using.

Yes, but it does not help. I do not think Plex will recode with mkv

You can watch the movies on the servers. But because it says that message can only be due to mkv. I do not think I have any other problems than that.

I Think im right.

You have probably just done something on your Plex, so mkv works for you so you do not get those messages.

I also have to be inside my logs and I can not see what should be wrong in there.

Why do you not answer me?

because I do things like go to lunch, and attend meetings

nothing has changed here. I run my server completely default settings so I can try to reproduce issues.,

then why are you here since you think you have all the answers

then attach them to a post so someone can look at them for you.

No, stop. You know What i mean.

I have no idea what you mean. I’m not even sure which player you are using. You just keep informing me that you are right or about mkv files somehow related to an error about connection strength.
