The connection is not strong enough to play this video

a file you downloaded could be corrupt

And that is not streaming. That is not file transfer.

i don’t understand what you mean by that.

I told Tom80H that

BigWheel? I’m talking about whether my computer or Plex will stay if one of those things has been running for too long and that’s why it’s teasing. right now it all works. All. But when it did not work, was it not because that computer needed to be turned off or that Plex needed not to be online? Were the computers or Plex? Or both?

My computer always has power and my network is as perfect as it needs to be. Could it be because my computer is seeding a movie I downloaded or what?

if you are using torrents and seeding a file that could take network resources away from other things.

Could it be that?

It absolutely could be.
You can test if your files play ok if both the server and the player are doing nothing but streaming your file. No other downloads / … in the background

Okay. In the past when it teased it was probably because I did not use Ethernet cable. So several months ago. a year approximately

Sometime it worked, sometime it did not. that could be because i did had an Ethernet cable or bad internet

Unless you’re streaming media outside your home network, the internet speed has nothing to do with it.

There’s a lot of topics that can influence your network capacity…

  • wired vs. wireless → some TVs only offer limited speeds for Ethernet cable connections but usually wireless connections are more easily distracted by walls, furniture, other wireless equipment, your neighbors network…

  • other apps uploading/downloading/streaming data

So do a test with nothing else happening and see if your files play better.

So back then it was teasing and sometimes not because I was on wireless internet while the router was in the closet. But then it did not work now here, why were there so other movies that did not work?

We cannot know.
Let’s test here and now how it works if nothing else is going on in your network and on the server.

But since it was teasing now here why were there so many other movies that worked?

I just tested it. Right now it works.

files are not all the same. Even if two files are both MKVs they may have many other aspects that can be different. The codecs used for video and audio, could vary a lot for example

Okay. and that’s why there were some that worked? before, they did not work either. but then I turned something off in my pc and then they worked.

Yes I would think so.

Is it yes to the whole Message?
