The dreaded "An error occurred..."

Is it just me or is the dreaded “An error occurred while trying to play this video…” error which shows up every few months back again? My Android tablet was working fine - there was a server update, and a lot of my videos have stopped working. The only fix appears to be to remove the subs - none of them seem to work. Is this common?

I think I found a fix, disable IPv6 support in the server settings. Seems to have fixed it for me.

I’m having the same issue, it just started and I believe it’s related to the latest player version (Dec 1st). I even tried downgrading the server to a Nov release (PlexMediaServer-1.20.5.3600-47c0d9038-x86) and it was still happening.

In my case it’s happening in all my Android-based devices: 2 Shield TVs and couple phones.

The only way to “fix it” is to disable the new player, but that should not be the fix as that disables some other features like the resolution change.

Edit: forgot to add, I tried the IPv6 and that didn’t work either… also, this seems to be affecting only local clients… I have another remote server and the same clients seem to be working fine with that server (when using the “new player”).
