I am using the latest Synology server in DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 1 and I downloaded the latest Plex Media Server as listed above and it installed but FAILED to run. I have deleted and downloaded the Plex Media Server from Synology but again it installed but failed to run. Can anyone help as I have been using this for years and I haven’t had any trouble with it plus I have searched this Forum and the Synology Forum and see nothing about this problem.
So I am now guessing that I must done something wrong when I was updating it because this Plex Media Server has just been updated in the last day or so and yet there are no other complaints.
I have done what you say and have gone into Plex Share and checked all the boxes in permissions and my Username has all the permissions…fine that is all correct
But for life of me I can’t find the Logs as you put it. I even went into the Help Centre to see if I could find a reference to Logs and it mentioned a Package called Log Centre which I downloaded and ran just in case it was there. There was a reference to Plex Media Server being installed successfully…but I can’t see how to compress or export that…which makes me think that is not the log you are referring to.
I tried to run Plex Media Centre this morning and again it fails to run. Obviously, these aren’t the logs you are referring to. Therefore, can you give me more details of where these logs are and I will try and accommodate you with these logs.
Thanks again for your help as I would really like get my Plex Server up and running again
trumpy81 I did what you said and went Q13 on your profile page and the Q13 as you had advised.
Obviously the first suggestion to retrieve the log didn’t work because I couldn’t get into my Plex Server because it wont run so I did what you said and went into File Station and I navigated to Plex and it’s logs and I right clicked and tried to compress the log file and it started to do that but unfortunately it hit an ERROR and said that " Your Personal Data has reached the Quota"
How do I increase my quota or do I install WebTools? and try and get the log from there?
Thanks again for your help
Thanks again for all your help. I did what you said and went into Group and users and checked all users and all of them came up with the same thing that my quotas are unlimited
Am I in trouble now that I can’t seem to get to my logs and I can’t get my Plex Media Server to run? Have I lost the use of the Plex Media Server for ever?
This Web Tools that you mentioned…you say that it can be set up in Synology but I don’t see a Package or an Spk file to run it manually?
I have just found out what I was doing that was wrong…YES I admit I am stupid
I couldn’t find the problems of quotas in Plex Users…they were as I said set at UNLIMITED
Which got to me thinking that I saw somewhere about quotas and it wasn’t in File Station but in Shared Folder under Plex. and in ADVANCED somehow a quota had been set …honestly I don’t how I did that or why did but once I unticked it and I tried Plex and it is running
trumpy81 yes I am now able to see the logs. Now that it is fixed I am back to Plexing and I am so so pleased. Thanks to you and Chuck I am now back to watching my favourite Movies and Music. At one stage I thought I had lost Plex altogether…which would have been a real disaster. Crisis over
